MATIAS KUPIAINEN

Matias Kupiainen was born on May 11, 1983 in Helsinki, Finland. He scored the role as Timo Tolkki's replacement for Stratovarius last year as their KICKASS guitarist!

Debuting with Stratovarius on their new 2009 "Polaris" album, he rocks the shit out of it and even composed 3 songs, proving himself a no-question replacement to fill the large
(and highly-intoxicated) shoes of Timo Tolkki.

Huge props to Matias Kupiainen and I can't wait to hear what amazing music he has in store for us in the near future! It's unfortunate that American music and media companies like ClearChannel, VH1, and MTV will have nothing to do with amazing musicians from Finland simply because they don't fit with our pop-culture and musically-ignorant youth. Thanks to sites like Pandora.com are able to expose the masses to awesome power metal, epic metal, and fantasy metal like the kind for which Stratovarius is so famous.
